CHASE Senior Staff Scientist, Dr. Carrie Donley, was awarded the 2020 Collaborative Research Award from the Research Triangle Nanotechnology Network (RTNN).

This award identifies outstanding research projects, papers, and/or presentations that leverage the resources, equipment, and/or expertise available through the RTNN. Carrie was the co-recipient of this award with co-author Dr. Fred Stevie of the Analytical Instrumentation Facility at North Carolina State University. The Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology recently published a collection of papers to address the report that “large percentage of research papers that include XPS data have seriously flawed interpretation of the data”, in which Carrie and Fred coauthored two publications. These papers, “Introduction to x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy” and “Sample handling, preparation and mounting for XPS and other surface analytical techniques” will help address this crisis in the field!

Congratulations Dr. Donley!
